Floors Incorporated RCFN Newest Member Owner

Floors, Inc. was founded by Richard Putnam in 1964 and is a leading commercial floor covering sales and installation company. In the years since, Richard, his wife Lana, and the staff have managed projects throughout the Midwest. Their home office in Lincoln, NE was built in 1985. A 23,000 square feet facility houses a large inventory of vinyl tile, carpet, vinyl base, sheet vinyl, rubber flooring, and accessories. The outstanding sales growth and dedication to quality was recognized in 1991 when Floors, Inc. was purchased by Nebraska Furniture Mart of Omaha, NE. NFM is the single largest volume home furnishings store in North America and is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. This was a wonderful opportunity for Floors, Inc. to continue its growth and prosperity with NFM's affiliation. In 1996, a second location was added in Omaha, NE. The 20,000 square foot facility has a full staff, including estimating and sales personnel similar to the Lincoln branch. Long-term vendor associations and excellent installation technicians will allow Floors, Inc. to continue to grow in the commercial floor covering industry.
